New Hampshire is nicknamed Granite State, due to the rock tangling up in its landscape.

The Granite State is also proud of its quiet lakes - the largest one, Lake Winnipesaukee, extends on 188 km square. Daily excursions on boat, the splendid M.S. Mount Washington, do the tour of the lake and stop by in each seaside station.

Cog Railway

Even though New Hampshire is small in the matter of surface (about 23,000 km2 and a bit more than one million inhabitants), New Hampshire does not lack of touristical richnesses :

Mount Washington is the highest Northwestern peak with its 1,917 meters of altitude. You will discover the Mount Washington Cog Railway, dating back in 1869, the very first steam railway in the world being able to climb a mountain.

Mount Monadnock is the most climbed mountain in North America.

The picturesque Wolfeboro is the oldest seaside station in USA.

Old Man of the Mountain - New Hampshire

The seat of New Hampshire legislation system is located in Concord, capital of the state. Its building is the country's oldest legislative building; both rooms still occupy their ancient places.

The Kangamagus Highway, between Lincoln and Conway, is one of the country's most spectacular roads.

In the Franconia Norch State Park, we will be able to visit the famous silhouette of The Old Man in the Mountain, symbol of the State, a natural granite profil extending on 16 meter from its forehead to its chin. Unfortunately, the rocky formation has fallen down in May 2003. A museum, nevertheless, stays devoted to the Old Man in the Mountain.

In Canterbury Shaker Village, about twenty km north of Concord, lives one of the last Shaker community of USA.

The Shakers are a group of religious people founded in 1774 by Ann Lee. The group, formerly known as the Shaking Quakers, is today called the Shakers due to their agitated dance movements performed during worship services.

In Portsmouth, the State's one and only port and a renowned ship construction center since the colonial era, we will visit different historical residences, such as the John Paul Jones House. And you will discover yourself, the charms of narrow, sinuous streets bordered by small craft shops penetrating everyone who sets foot in the town.
