    | The explorers Lewis and Clark, crossed in 1805 what is known today as the State of Montana, quickly followed by the French and English trappers, until in the 1840s. Then came the golddiggers, in the 1860s, which built there the first cities .
Montana is the country of elks, bisons,and grizzly bear living here free in an authentic nature.
It is the country of the Native Americans, twelve tribes still living on these lands.
Glacier National Park Glacier National Park, in the northwest of the State, encompasses more than 980 000 acres of splendid mountainous landscapes. Fifty glaciers and some 200 lakes are accessible by car or on foot. You'll find there approximately one thousand miles of tracks, with campsite and hotels. Entries of the park are located at St. Mary and West Glacier.
Helena Helena, the capital, is in the south central area. The city has been founded in 1864 following the discovery of gold bearing layers.
Why not visit Helena by the train of the "The Last Chance Creek". Helena, taking its name from the famous Helen of Troy, had once been the place where the first gold seams were discovered. In 1888, during the "Gold fever", within the boundaries of Helena lived more millionnaires that in the rest of the world.
Excursions on a ship enable you to to discover the Savage Mountain gorge.
 Butte Butte, 80 miles west, is an important center for copper production. To discover the old mining techniques as well as the old days pioneers's life, you can visit the World Museum of Mining.
You can also make a visit to the Anaconda Coppermine.
Near the city you can find the Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park.
Great Falls Montana's largest city is an important industrial center concentrated on metal extraction and transformation.
Custer Battlefield National Monument Here is the famous battlefield of Little Big Horn, where, on June 25th and 26th of 1876 the Sioux and Cheyennes fought with General George L.
